Oak Barn Farm: Land & Legacy

A working smallholding blending traditional farming with pioneering cider orchards, vineyards, and natural livestock care.

Our Roots

From Hay Fields to Orchards

Oak Barn Farm began as hay crops, a tradition we uphold with limited hay and straw production. Over recent years, our focus shifted to diversification, cultivating cider apples, grapes, and commercial hedging.

Our cider apple orchard and vineyard are maturing, with small-batch samples available. We anticipate full production of farm-grown cider, apple juice, and wine within two to three years.

Farming with Nature

Our Natural Land Stewards

Ground Preparation

Our pigs play a vital role, naturally clearing and preparing areas of ground for new plantings. Their activity improves soil health and reduces the need for mechanical intervention.

Pasture Fertilisation

Sheep graze our pastures, naturally fertilising the land and managing grass growth. This symbiotic relationship enhances soil fertility and reduces waste across the farm.

Pollination Partners

Honeybees thrive on the farm, pollinating our orchard, vineyard, hedging plants, and the surrounding Heath Road countryside. They are essential to our ecosystem.

Our Philosophy

A diverse farming environment where all life supports one another.

We are building a self-sustaining system where livestock, crops, insects, and wildlife work in harmony. This commitment to natural cycles drives every decision on our working smallholding.
